Terms

The terms, plainly.

Last updated 6 October 2026

These terms govern your use of Arête, operated by Arête Travel LLC ("we"). By using the site you agree to them. Our Privacy page explains how we handle your information.

What Arête is

Arête writes travel itineraries with AI, and Sophia, our AI concierge, helps you refine them. Arête is not a travel agent. We don't make bookings, take payment for travel, or give visa, health, safety or legal advice.

Itineraries are written by AI — check before you book

Names, places and links

Hotels, restaurants, guides and brands are named to describe them. Arête is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them, and their names and marks belong to their owners. Links to booking and search sites (such as Booking.com, Google and Kayak) take you to services we don't control; their terms apply there.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to use Arête. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete it at any time.

Fair use

Who owns what

The Arête name, design, code, curated destination content and photography selections are ours or our licensors'. You may use, save, print and share the itineraries Arête writes for you for your personal, non-commercial travel planning. Photographs are licensed from Unsplash and Pexels contributors under those platforms' licences and remain theirs.

No warranty

Arête is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that itineraries are accurate, complete, current or suitable for you, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from your reliance on an itinerary — including bookings, cancellations, missed connections, or a venue being closed or different from its description. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept it. We may change or stop the service. You may stop using it at any time.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules; this does not take away any protection your local consumer law gives you. Questions: hello@aretetravel.app.
